The Saint Louis Peace Corps Association will present its Global Stewardship Award to Senator Christopher Bond and to Dr. Patricia Wolff, in conjunction with a symposium on international volunteerism.

Senator Bond is being honored for his singular leadership in the U.S. Senate with regard to the importance of the Peace Corps in public diplomacy. He has used his influence to encourage increased funding so that the Peace Corps can expand its efforts.

Dr. Patricia Wolff's volunteer efforts in reducing childhood malnutrition in Haiti exemplify the spirit of the Peace Corps. Her efforts to help the most vulnerable of Haiti's citizens, its children, while at the same time sourcing materials and labor locally to jumpstart economic development provide a model for our times.

This event will be held at the Knight Center at Washington University in Saint Louis , Missouri.

The symposium is sponsored by the Gephardt Institute for Public Service at Washington University.
