Workshop:  Bringing the World Back Home through Global Education

Description: The "third goal" of Peace Corps is to educate people in the United States about the countries and cultures that Volunteers have experienced. During this workshop, you'll have the opportunity to hear of free resources that support the efforts of educators, returned Peace Corps volunteers and others to bring the world back home to classrooms and communities. Learn about the different ways in which you can become engaged in a variety of global education activities, whether you're a returned Volunteer, an educator, or just interested in getting involved.

Presenters:

-  Anne Baker, Vice President, National Peace Corps Association (RPCV Fiji 1985-1987)

-  Helen Covington, Social Studies Teacher, Mandarin High School (RPCV Tunisia 1977-1979)

Workshop:  Peace Corps Recruiter Chat

Description: Let returned Peace Corps volunteers inspire you to make a difference as they share stories and photos from their services abroad. This workshop, facilitated by Recruiter Dwan Adams (RPCV Mongolia 2007-2009), is for anyone interested in becoming a Peace Corps volunteer. Returned volunteers and Peace Corps recruiters will answer questions about life abroad, the application process, eligibility requirements and benefits of service. Family and friends are also welcome to attend.

Workshop:  The Peace Corps Experience: Shaping Lives and Careers

Description:  There are many inspiring ways in which returned Peace Corps Volunteers continue to serve even beyond their work in the Peace Corps. The presenters at this workshop are individuals who have dedicated their lives to service. Join us to hear about their experiences and challenges, and to participate in a discussion and celebration of all that we do and how we can support service in our own communities and around the world. Come with your stories, questions and ideas--this workshop will be an opportunity to network and find inspiration.
