Come join fellow RPCVs and celebrate the Peace Corps 50th Anniversary. We are hosting a celebratory exhibit opening and reception honoring the 50th Anniversary of the Peace Corps and the nearly 2000 state state residents who have volunteered to serve in the Peace Corps since 1961.

We will be honoring the legacy of the Hawaii Peace Corps Training program administered by the University of Hawaii at Hilo from 1962-1971 in which more than 7000 volunteers completed training in Hawaii before departing for assignment in southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands.

Our traveling public exhibit opens at the Honolulu Mayor's Office on September 13th. The exhibit features the University of Hawaii's vital role in the development of Peace Corps training and resident RPCVs. The exhibit includes historical archived photos including the Hilo Training Center, Waipio Valley training village along with personal photos, Peace Corps memorabilia and artifacts provided by local RPCVs.

Pupus and beverages will be provided.
