Was very dismayed to see that nothing had been planned to bring SENEGAL, W. AFRICA RPCVs together at the PC 50th Anniversary--Given that PC has been in Senegal (and now, Gambia) for nearly 50 years!
(I was one of the first PC Volunteers to serve in Senegal, in the Senegal 1 Project, 1962-64--and therefore, one of the first PC projects in Africa, which has continued (fortunately) uninterrupted since our arrival there in 1963.
I initially served in the PC's first athletic coaching project, which in Senegal included their National Track & Field Team (and other sports as well) in the 1963 African Games, and also in preparation for the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games. I also began the first PC project in Community Development on the Ile de Goree, Senegal, 1963-64.)
